RECLAIMING HEART PRACTICE

Asian American femme person with long brown hair smiling wearing denim jacket

Sometimes, the inequity we experience everyday is overwhelming. Other times, change chooses us before we are ready. Too often, we are unequipped and left alone in our pain. These experiences can accumulate over time and a person can become isolated and disconnected, often as a means of survival.

If disconnection breeds dis-ease,

then connection is the remedy

It may sound simple, but connection is not an easy path. The path to connection requires great courage to face the pain that persists in the shadow. Connection requires intentionality. Connection is an act of resistance toward the oppressive systems that thrive on keeping us small and disengaged. Connection brings feeling, which ultimately leads to healing.

Our work together will not involve “fixing” you:

you are not broken, you never lack

Rather the systems that should have nurtured you, could not hold you. Good news: you already possess the power within to orbit elsewhere and imagine otherwise. This practice will support you in the returning and reclaiming of your innate worthiness, dignity, imagination and heart so that you can make choices from a place of presence and responsiveness in a rapidly changing world.

Mental health is a practice

Just like any sort of muscle or skill building, this practice requires a commitment to showing up. With enough “reps,” I can support you in cultivating the capacity to meet the ebbs and flows of life with more curiosity and adaptability.

Your heart is a muscle the size of your fist
I hope you choose this fight for your heart
